CNS/ATM Automation & Surveillance Engineer

About the Role

FNRCO is seeking a CNS/ATM Automation & Surveillance Engineer to join its team in Makkah, specifically covering Jeddah and Makkah. This full-time role involves core technical activities related to the design, testing, validation, and ongoing support of Automation and Surveillance systems. The engineer will ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices within defined KPIs, budgets, and adopted policies and procedures. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the development of technical proposals for Automation and Surveillance systems in response to RFPs, ensuring compliance with regulatory and operational standards.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of Automation and Surveillance systems, ensuring they meet operational, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead testing and validation processes for systems, ensuring adherence to design requirements and regulatory standards, and provide technical assistance during operational transition.
• Continuously monitor and ensure all Automation and Surveillance systems comply with relevant ICAO and other aviation industry regulations.
• Assist in quality assurance and participate in the commissioning of new systems to ensure successful implementation.
• Create detailed project schedules, identify key milestones, and assign tasks to team members.
• Lead system design reviews (SDR, PDR, CDR) and oversee quality assurance tests and system commissioning.
• Lead the integration of Automation and Surveillance systems with existing and future systems, collaborating with other departments and external entities.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ICAO and other relevant regulations, ensuring compliance in all engineering activities, particularly in safety-critical aspects of air traffic management.
• Support the assessment of air traffic service (ATS) procedure changes and airspace structure adjustments on existing and future systems.

Stakeholder Management and Coordination

• Coordinate interactions with internal stakeholders, including technical, financial, and legal teams, for necessary information and approvals.
• Collaborate with other engineering departments to meet client expectations within project specifications and standards.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors to develop RFPs, evaluate proposals, and oversee technical aspects of contract execution.

Performance, Reporting, and Consultation

• Report project status, technical challenges, and proposed solutions to the Automation and Surveillance Manager.
• Offer expert technical support during project execution, collaborating with installation and planning teams.
• Act as a consultant to clients, ensuring solutions align with operational goals and industry standards.

Policies, Processes, and Procedures

• Conduct day-to-day activities in compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Contribute to identifying opportunities for continuous improvement of systems and processes, considering leading practices, business environment changes, cost reduction, and productivity improvement.
