About the Fleet Project Engineer Role

flyadeal is seeking a Fleet Project Engineer to manage strategic engineering, procurement, and operational projects. This full-time position, located in the Makkah Region (Jeddah, Makkah), requires 5-10 years of experience and focuses on enhancing fleet capability, reducing costs, and improving product quality through comprehensive project lifecycle management.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Fleet Project Engineer will oversee the complete project lifecycle, from planning and stakeholder coordination to execution and post-project review, ensuring compliance with technical standards, commercial agreements, and airline objectives. Key responsibilities include leading engineering and procurement projects within Technical and Operations departments, managing end-to-end project implementation, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders for timely delivery aligned with business goals.

Project Management and Oversight

  • Lead engineering and procurement projects within the Technical and Operations departments.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure on-time, goal-aligned project delivery.
  • Manage end-to-end project implementation, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives.
  • Conduct post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and areas for future improvement.
  • Provide feedback to enhance future contract negotiations and project delivery processes.

Financial and Contractual Management

  • Ensure all contracts and agreements meet business needs and cost control expectations.
  • Evaluate vendor and supplier performance against contractual obligations.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for vendor disputes, ensuring professional and timely resolution.
  • Monitor project budgets, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Prepare detailed reports for leadership on budget performance, cost-saving opportunities, and financial risks.

Fleet Transition and Technical Compliance

  • Oversee the aircraft delivery process, ensuring all technical and contractual requirements are met.
  • Manage the redelivery of aircraft at lease-end, ensuring compliance with lease conditions and technical standards.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Aeronautical, Electrical, or Mechanical) and hold a PMP certification. A Master’s degree is considered an advantage. The role requires over 6 years of engineering experience, with a minimum of 3 years in project management. Essential knowledge includes airworthiness, aircraft engineering, maintenance, and technical operations. Hands-on experience with aircraft delivery and redelivery processes, along with lease agreements, is necessary. Strong problem-solving, analytical, commercial, and business awareness skills are critical. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of ownership, accountability, attention to detail, and possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management abilities, with a proven capacity to manage multiple priorities in a results-oriented environment.
