About the Role
Baja is seeking a Technical Support Specialist to join its Information Technology department. This full-time position is based in Abhā, 'Asir, Saudi Arabia, and will support retail operations across Abha and Khamis Mushayt. The role is responsible for ensuring the effective operation of the retail technology infrastructure, providing essential support to stores, and contributing to system implementations.
This position is key to maintaining the operational efficiency of Point of Sale (POS) systems, CCTV, network connectivity, and other IT hardware and software critical to the retail business. The ideal candidate will possess a foundational understanding of IT support principles and a strong willingness to learn and develop within a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Point of Sale (POS) systems and associated peripherals.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues affecting retail operations.
- Provide support for CCTV systems, ensuring their proper functioning and maintenance.
- Manage and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and access points.
- Oversee internet connectivity, coordinating with service providers for reliable service.
- Deliver technical support for desktops, laptops, and various business applications used by staff.
- Monitor and maintain Wide Area Network (WAN), Virtual Private Network (VPN), and site-to-site connectivity.
- Support new store openings by setting up and implementing necessary IT systems.
- Assist with system implementations and upgrades across different locations.
- Perform regular system maintenance, updates, and ensure accurate system documentation.
- Handle helpdesk tickets efficiently, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 1 to 2 years of experience in IT Technical Support, preferably within the retail sector.
- Strong knowledge of POS systems, CCTV platforms, and general networking principles.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Windows operating systems, and Active Directory.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and ticketing tools used for IT support.
- Good communication skills in both Arabic and English.
- Willingness to travel between store locations as required.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
