Position Overview

The Draftsman / CAD Operator is responsible for producing precise and detailed technical drawings that serve as the foundation for fabrication and installation works. This position requires a strong understanding of architectural and interior design drawings, excellent technical skills, and coordination with design, engineering, and production teams to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of project execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drawing Review & Preparation: Study and review architectural and interior design drawings received from the client or consultant; Identify relevant design details, dimensions, and materials in line with project requirements; Prepare shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and as-built drawings according to project standards and timelines.
  • Coordination & Analysis: Review the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and align it with the signed contract scope of work; Coordinate with the project management, design, and site teams to ensure all drawings reflect accurate site conditions; Verify and adapt as-built measurements obtained from the project site into final fabrication drawings.
  • Documentation & Submittals: Maintain a Drawing Log to monitor submission and approval statuses; Submit shop drawings for client/consultant review and implement any required revisions; Ensure all drawing revisions are properly documented and version-controlled.
  • Fabrication & Production Support: Once fabrication drawings are approved, prepare printed and digital copies for the production department; Coordinate with production to clarify any technical details or adjustments; Ensure all drawings conform to fabrication standards, tolerances, and material specifications.
  • Quality & Compliance: Adhere to company quality control standards, safety procedures, and documentation protocols; Ensure all drawings are well-organized and properly archived.

Required Skills & Software Proficiency:
  • AutoCAD – Advanced proficiency for 2D drafting and detailing.
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft Word
  • Familiarity with other design software (SketchUp, Revit, etc.) is a plus.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Draftsman / CAD Operator in a construction, fit-out, or interior design environment.
  • Strong knowledge of joinery, woodwork, and interior detailing preferred.
  • Excellent accuracy, organization, and communication skills.

  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Proficient in inventory management systems (ERP, Oracle, SAP, or equivalent).
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams across multiple construction sites.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of HSE standards and material handling best practices.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with mega or infrastructure construction projects.
  • Certification in Warehouse Management or Supply Chain Operations is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with local and international material procurement standards.
