About the Role

Agoda, a part of Booking Holdings, is seeking an ambitious Lead Data Scientist to join its Data Science and Machine Learning team. This position is based in Bangkok, Thailand, with relocation assistance and visa sponsorship provided for eligible candidates. The role involves working with large-scale productive machine learning and big data platforms, processing approximately 600 billion events daily and making around 5 billion predictions. Role Context and Impact

The Data department at Agoda is responsible for all data-related needs, focusing on enhancing data utilization through creative solutions and powerful resources. As a Lead Data Scientist, you will empower business users, product managers, and engineers with data-driven insights. Your work will contribute to improving customer experience through faster search results and enhanced fraud protection. You will operate within an extensive ML infrastructure, utilizing dozens of GPUs, over 30,000 CPU cores, and 150TB of memory.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, code, experiment with, and implement models and algorithms to optimize customer experience, supply-side value, business outcomes, and infrastructure readiness.
• Mine large datasets, including hundreds of millions of customers, over 600 million daily user-generated events, and supplier and pricing data, to uncover actionable insights that drive improvements and innovation.
• Collaborate with developers and various business stakeholders to deliver high-quality daily results.
• Research and identify new ideas that can significantly impact the business.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 4 years of hands-on data science experience.
• Strong understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning (DL), and Statistics.
• Proficiency in coding using relevant open-source libraries and frameworks.
• Significant proficiency in SQL and programming languages such as Python, PySpark, and/or Scala.
• Ability to lead, work independently, and contribute effectively within a team.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills suitable for a multicultural work environment.
