About the Process Engineer Role

Lucid Motors Middle East is seeking a Process Engineer for its General Assembly operations in King Abdullah Economic City, Makkah Region. This full-time position focuses on developing, validating, and improving manufacturing processes to meet quality and throughput targets. The role is integral to new product introductions, process validation, and ongoing production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and ergonomic standards.
  • Execute validation activities, including trial builds, capability studies, and process readiness assessments.
  • Create and maintain essential process documentation such as Standard Work, Control Plans, PFMEAs, Work Instructions, and Process Flow Diagrams.
  • Support tooling validation, equipment buy-off, and readiness for production launch.
  • Monitor key process performance indicators (KPIs) including First Time Quality (FTQ), cycle time, scrap, and rework rates, escalating deviations as needed.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Production teams to identify root causes of issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Implement process control systems, including Poka-Yoke solutions and visual management.
  • Utilize structured problem-solving tools such as 5-Why, Fishbone, and 8D to resolve production issues.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including Kaizen events and waste reduction efforts.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Logistics, Maintenance, and Operations.
  • Participate in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews and provide feedback on process requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in automotive manufacturing or process engineering.
  • Experience supporting process validation, product launches, or production environments.
  • Hands-on experience with problem-solving methodologies and process control systems.
  • Understanding of production systems and high-volume manufacturing operations.
  • Flexibility to support off-shifts and weekend activities during critical launch phases.

Required Skills

  • Understanding of assembly processes, tooling, and production systems.
  • Working knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plans, and process audits.
  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), torque tools, and basic CAD/BI tools.
  • Understanding of material flow, kitting, and line balancing concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities across different functions.
  • High attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.

Work Location and Type

This is a full-time position located in King Abdullah Economic City, Makkah Region. The role requires flexibility to support off-shifts and weekend activities during launch phases.
