About the Quality Control Officer Role

Sunbulah Group is seeking a Quality Control Officer to join their team in Jeddah and Makkah. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of experience in food manufacturing quality control. The role is integral to ensuring adherence to stringent food safety and quality standards throughout the production process.

Core Responsibilities

The Quality Control Officer will be responsible for monitoring and enforcing food safety and quality programs, ensuring compliance with company, customer, legal, and regulatory requirements. Key duties include:

  • Monitoring implemented quality assurance policies and procedures for inspecting and controlling raw materials, in-process, and finished products to ensure conformity to standards and specifications.
  • Overseeing facilities and manufacturing operations machinery and sites for conformance with established procedures and requirements.
  • Ensuring effective calibration of all instruments and devices used in production and testing.
  • Verifying manufacturing area and production line hygiene through pre-operational checks.
  • Ensuring the integrity of raw materials, in-process, and finished products storage locations through frequent verification of established standards.
  • Testing all Critical Control Points (CCPs) and packaging/labeling requirements according to HACCP plan frequencies.
  • Verifying that pest control policies are maintained at the settled frequency.
  • Maintaining required records and documents, including formula test results, inspections, samples, and raw materials quality performance.
  • Monitoring online product sampling for food microbiology, chemistry, and organoleptic testing according to acquired sampling plans and frequencies.
  • Reporting food handler food safety training needs and following up on food handler food safety behavior.

Collaboration and Improvement

This role involves ensuring product technical requirements are met and communicating any material blocks and their reasons if they do not match Sunbulah specifications. Collaboration with other functions is essential to understand and troubleshoot product complaints, improve customer service, and enhance product performance. The Quality Control Officer will also coordinate and aid in operational problem evaluation and problem-solving. A key aspect of the role is the continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) and Food Safety Management System (FSMS) by implementing internationally recognized food safety and quality systems.

Compliance and Reporting

Adherence to all relevant safety, quality, and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls is mandatory to ensure a healthy and safe work environment. The Quality Control Officer will prepare online checks for raw materials quality and food safety monitoring, as well as products manufacturing quality control, using assigned forms as per the Sunbulah quality manual.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • A ** degree in Food Science/Technology, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in food manufacturing quality control.
  • Knowledge of local and international food regulations.
  • Good English communication skills, both spoken and written.
  • Excellent overall communication skills.
