The Role of Senior Quantity Surveyor
Parsons is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead all cost and commercial management activities on projects. This role involves ensuring accurate budgeting, effective cost control, and thorough contract administration from project inception through to completion. A key focus of the position is tender management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all aspects of quantity surveying for projects.
- Manage all cost and commercial activities, including tender management.
- Accurately measure and price using contract drawings, specifications, and Bills of Quantities.
- Handle post-contract quantity surveying functions such as interim and final payments, variations, commercial and contractual correspondence, cash flows, and claims.
- Advise on contractual matters and ensure the completeness and validity of contractual requirements.
- Review and audit contractors' and consultants’ monthly payment applications and statements at completion, preparing necessary payment certificates.
- Prepare cost estimates, Bills of Quantities, and tender documentation.
- Revise Bills of Quantities and prices periodically to ensure sufficient available funds.
- Monitor contract final cost estimates and maintain expenditure records.
- Review, negotiate, and prepare claim settlements.
- Coordinate and monitor the activities of the quantity surveying team.
- Prepare financial statements for monthly reports.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience in managing and overseeing quantity surveying for projects.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team of quantity surveyors, providing guidance and support.
- Experience ranging from 5 to 10 years in quantity surveying.
- International work experience is preferred, particularly within Saudi Arabia (KSA).
Work Location and Type
This is a full-time position based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
