Job Description
Role Overview: Therapeutic Area Partner, Immuno-oncology
Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking a Therapeutic Area Partner (TAP) for Immuno-oncology to join our team in Jiddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time, field-based position responsible for facilitating scientific exchange with healthcare professionals (HCPs) in oncology. The TAP serves as the primary point of contact for HCPs, ensuring meaningful, timely, and scientifically appropriate engagement. This role also involves interaction with a broader range of stakeholders, including clinical pharmacists, HEOR experts, and multidisciplinary teams, with a minimum of 90% of working time spent in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a high level of disease expertise and understand the treatment landscape, including HCP mapping.
- Collect and synthesize clinical data, providing relevant insights to internal stakeholders for strategic direction.
- Identify knowledge and care gaps within the territory and implement learning programs to address HCP needs.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive territory plan in accordance with agreed metrics and KPIs.
- Prepare and present scientific and product-related information to HCPs, responding to questions with medical accuracy.
- Communicate the scientific and economic value of BMS products to relevant stakeholders.
- Support timely access and formulary enlistment of approved indications and products through collaboration with HCPs and institutions.
- Build strong working relationships with key external and internal stakeholders to understand challenges in the access environment.
- Develop and deliver plans aligned with cross-functional team and product objectives.
Scientific Engagement and Data Interpretation
The Therapeutic Area Partner is responsible for maintaining proactive communication with physicians and other HCPs regarding approved indications. This includes responding to unsolicited scientific and product-related questions using approved tools and maintaining expertise on emerging data related to BMS products. The role requires collecting and providing meaningful medical insights to internal teams to support strategic development, as well as discussing and delivering Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) evidence-based information to relevant stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Market Access
This position involves developing hospital mapping and understanding patient journeys to identify access barriers and facilitate formulary enlistment. Collaboration with key HCPs across hospitals and institutions is essential to support timely access. The TAP will proactively seek cross-functional input to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the treatment landscape and deliver scientifically meaningful programs related to disease areas, ensuring effective execution of activities in support of overarching plans.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
- Degree: Pharmacist with relevant pharmaceutical/biotechnology experience.
- License: Valid Saudi Commission for Health Specialties license.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a scientific role within the pharmaceutical industry. Oncology experience is preferred.
- Skills: High level of scientific acumen, ability to interpret and present clinical data, strong communication and presentation skills, and knowledge of the healthcare system and access environment in Saudi Arabia.
- Competencies: Demonstrates independence, initiative, adaptability to evolving environments, and strong interpersonal skills including negotiation and strategic thinking.

The Therapeutic Area Partner is expected to promote and uphold a culture of compliance, adhering to all internal and external rules and regulations. This includes reporting any potential compliance concerns to management or the Compliance Department. The role requires consistently demonstrating ethical and professional conduct, serving as a role model within the organization.
