About the Tool Room Technician Role

ALPLA Group is seeking a skilled Tool Room Technician to join our team in Makkah, specifically in the cities of Jeddah and Makkah. This is a full-time position requiring 5-10 years of experience. The role focuses on the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of tools and equipment to ensure efficient production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs, maintenance, and servicing of tools and equipment.
  • Ensure the timely provision of necessary materials, spare parts, and equipment.
  • Maintain adequate stock levels for repairs and spare parts.
  • Maintain proper documentation for all tools received, issued, and ordered.
  • Execute daily log and record keeping in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Maintain cleanliness of the stockroom and tool room, adhering to 5S standards.
  • Order and receive parts and equipment as required.
  • Assist with equipment breakdowns as needed.
  • Contribute to production optimization through preventative maintenance activities.
  • Report immediately to the maintenance manager for analysis and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate daily activities and maintenance plan schedules with the maintenance manager.
  • Address breakdowns affecting production, perform troubleshooting, and carry out repairs effectively and professionally.
  • Ensure the safekeeping of maintenance hand tools and equipment.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance of all molds and related accessories as per the maintenance plan/schedule.
  • Follow the production schedule to identify repair works or preventive maintenance that can be performed without impacting overall machine efficiency.
  • Support the changeover team when required.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at all times.
  • Inspect and examine equipment (molds and accessories) and report any defects immediately.
  • Maintain molds and accessories to guarantee constant production and request support if needed.
  • Ensure 5S procedures and activities are followed as per SOPs.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A 3-year degree in a related field or equivalent is required.
  • 3-5 years of knowledge in plastics blow molding or injection molding equipment, molds, and accessories.
  • At least 3-5 years of maintenance experience with molds, tools, accessories, and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • 5 years of responsible experience in the Plastic Manufacturing Industry, with in-depth knowledge of the plastic process.
  • Proficiency in using welding, lathe, milling, grinding, and drilling machines.

Skills and Competencies

  • Technical training certificate in mold making with skills in troubleshooting mold-related problems; ability to read engineering drawings or vocational course graduate.
  • Ability to learn and utilize maintenance software for data input and parts research.
  • Good written and communication skills in English.
  • Expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software.
  • Professional attitude in dealing with individuals at all levels and in handling confidential information.
