About the Role

WSP Middle East is seeking an experienced Archaeology and Cultural Heritage Business Development Manager to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time position focuses on driving growth and expanding our heritage services across the region. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in business development within the Middle East heritage sector, combining commercial acumen with technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for:

  • Leading business development initiatives for archaeological and cultural heritage services throughout the Middle East.
  • Identifying and securing new business opportunities with government entities, tourism authorities, cultural organizations, developers, and infrastructure clients.
  • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships, acting as a key representative for WSP’s heritage team.
  • Expanding and diversifying WSP’s heritage service offerings, including archaeology, conservation, heritage master planning, and cultural development.
  • Contributing to archaeological assessments and heritage-related written deliverables.
  • Liaising with stakeholders, curators, regulatory bodies, and clients to support project approvals and delivery.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including environment, planning, sustainability, and urban development.
  • Promoting integrated heritage services across internal WSP teams.
  • Supporting high-quality project delivery, ensuring alignment with WSP’s technical, safety, and commercial standards.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess:

  • Proven experience in archaeology and heritage-focused business development within the Middle East.
  • Strong commercial awareness and a successful track record of securing work in the Middle East heritage or cultural landscape sectors.
  • Experience managing archaeological or heritage projects, including fieldwork oversight, financial management, and team coordination.
  • Robust knowledge of archaeology and cultural heritage across the Middle East region, with a comprehensive understanding of planning processes, environmental legislation, and heritage regulations.
  • Experience across key areas such as heritage and planning, master planning and placemaking, conservation and heritage-led regeneration, recreation, tourism and cultural development, sustainability and heritage integration, multidisciplinary collaboration, and business development and client engagement.
  • Excellent writing, communication, and client-facing skills.
  • A highly motivated and organized approach, with the ability to deliver high-quality work within deadlines and budget constraints.
  • A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience.
