The Data Centre Team

The data centre team at Cundall has been leading mission-critical design since 2006, delivering over 2,000MW of capacity globally. Role Overview

This role offers an opportunity for an experienced and client-focused Associate with electrical expertise to join the data centre team. The successful candidate will play a leading role in ensuring the successful delivery of design solutions for notable and large-scale data centre projects. Collaboration within the data centre team and with colleagues from various disciplines will be key to driving and managing the delivery of technically excellent projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of electrical systems for hyperscale and enterprise-level data centres.
• Produce and oversee electrical schematics, reports, specifications, and detailed layouts.
• Manage, mentor, and motivate a team of engineers to ensure high-quality design output and commercial performance.
• Coordinate closely with other disciplines to ensure seamless integration of design systems.
• Act as a primary point of contact for clients, building long-term relationships and repeat business.
• Review and approve designs to ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and client specifications.
• Contribute to and support internal project management processes including fee tracking, progress monitoring, and programme delivery.
• Be involved in design strategy, advising on system resilience, redundancy, and power distribution methodologies.
• Participate in site inspections, technical meetings, commissioning activities, and post-occupancy reviews.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should be Chartered Engineers, educated to degree level in Electrical or Building Services Engineering. Significant experience in a consulting engineering role within the relevant engineering field is required, with ideally some experience in the data centre sector and an understanding of data centre design and delivery principles. The role requires a proven ability to manage multiple medium to large-scale projects and less senior engineers to meet and exceed client expectations. Experience in producing schematic diagrams, preparing specifications and project reports, carrying out site inspections and surveys, detailed design development, and leading project meetings is essential.
