About the Role

NeoStats Analytics, a data and analytics firm, is seeking an experienced Authorisation and Fraud Consultant to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This 12-month contract position is critical for supporting the Credit Cards business by optimizing authorization performance, enhancing fraud controls, and ensuring overall portfolio health. The role aims to balance improved customer experience through higher approval rates with robust risk management via effective fraud prevention. NeoStats focuses on transforming clients into data-driven organizations through analytics expertise and end-to-end implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the bank's credit card portfolio, including customer segments, spending behaviors, and lifecycle performance.
  • Drive authorization optimization strategies to enhance approval rates across the issuing portfolio while adhering to defined risk thresholds.
  • Analyze authorization declines, identifying patterns, drivers, and opportunities to reduce false declines and improve the overall customer experience.
  • Collaborate closely with fraud and risk teams to optimize fraud rules and controls without negatively impacting the approval of genuine transactions.
  • Monitor and report on key issuing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including approval rates, decline rates, fraud rates, and overall portfolio performance metrics.
  • Provide data-driven insights and analytics to support informed decision-making across the cards business, risk, and operations teams.
  • Enhance Management Information System (MIS) reporting dashboards for the issuing portfolio, with a specific focus on authorization performance and fraud trends.
  • Act as the primary interface between the client and issuer stakeholders (cards business, risk, fraud, operations), ensuring alignment on initiatives and outcomes.
  • Support the implementation of authorization and fraud optimization use cases and recommendations within the issuing environment.
  • Establish a regular governance cadence with stakeholders to track performance, review outcomes, and manage ongoing enhancements.
  • Coordinate with client teams to integrate best practices and global insights into the issuing portfolio strategies.
  • Ensure effective knowledge transfer and capability building within the bank's cards and fraud teams.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Mandatory experience working within a bank with a strong understanding of the cards business, authorization systems, and fraud systems.
  • 10-12 years of experience in cards issuing, fraud risk management, and authorization management.
  • A solid understanding of the credit cards issuing business lifecycle, encompassing activation, usage, retention, and spend growth.
  • Proven experience in managing authorization strategies and fraud controls within issuing environments.
  • Familiarity with fraud and authorization platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate analytical findings into actionable portfolio-level interventions.
  • Experience working collaboratively with cards business teams, beyond just acquisition or sales functions.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across risk, fraud, and cards portfolio teams.
  • Awareness of SAMA regulations pertaining to fraud reporting and liability.
  • Experience with local market fraud trends, specifically within KSA/GCC.
  • Understanding of the trade-offs between compliance requirements and business objectives.

Work Environment and Contract Details

This is a 12-month contract position for an Authorisation and Fraud Consultant based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role requires an onsite presence. NeoStats is a dynamic new-age Data & Analytics firm established in 2022, with headquarters in the UAE and bases in India and the UK.
