About the Baker Lead Role

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts is seeking a skilled Baker Lead to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience in baking and pastry preparation.

Key Responsibilities

The Baker Lead will be responsible for the end-to-end preparation of breads and pastries. This includes:

  • Reviewing daily production sheets to understand the variety of baked goods required.
  • Preparing and cooking food items in accordance with established recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
  • Safely and appropriately utilizing baking tools, equipment, and appliances.
  • Monitoring and ensuring correct temperatures of kitchen appliances and food, reporting any issues to management.
  • Maintaining oversight of food quality and portion control throughout the shift.

Operational Duties

  • Maintaining kitchen logs to ensure compliance with food safety programs.
  • Communicating excess food items to the Chef for planning daily specials.
  • Adhering to and ensuring compliance with all food safety handling policies, procedures, and personal hygiene standards.
  • Following all company policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols, and reporting any accidents, injuries, or unsafe working conditions.
  • Ensuring a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
  • Speaking with others using clear and professional language and answering telephones with appropriate etiquette.
  • Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with colleagues and supporting team goals.
  • Complying with quality expectations and standards.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing 25 pounds or less without assistance.
  • Ability to move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces.
  • Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree.
  • Related Work Experience: A minimum of 2 years of related work experience is required.

Leadership Support

While this role does not require direct supervisory experience, the Baker Lead will assist management in various employee-related functions. This includes supporting hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, and employee motivation. The Baker Lead is expected to serve as a role model for the team.
