About the Baker Lead Role

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts is seeking a skilled Baker Lead to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time position involves preparing a variety of baked goods, ensuring quality standards, and contributing to the overall success of our culinary operations. The role requires a minimum of 2 years of related work experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare breads and pastries, including doughs, fillings, proofing, baking, and decorating.
  • Review daily production sheets to understand the variety of baked goods required.
  • Prepare and cook food according to established recipes, quality standards, and food preparation checklists.
  • Safely and appropriately use baking tools, equipment, and appliances.
  • Monitor and ensure correct temperatures of kitchen appliances and food, reporting any issues to management.
  • Maintain the quality of prepared food and portion sizes throughout the shift.
  • Maintain kitchen logs for food safety program compliance.
  • Inform the Chef of excess food items to assist in planning daily specials.
  • Adhere to and ensure compliance with food safety handling policies, procedures, and personal hygiene standards.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols.
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions to management.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with others and answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and support team efforts to achieve common goals.
  • Handle sensitive issues with tact, respect, and confidentiality.
  • Comply with quality expectations and standards.

Physical Demands

This role requires the ability to perform the following physical tasks:

  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
  • Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.

Other reasonable job duties may be requested by Supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree.
  • Related Work Experience: At least 2 years of related work experience.
  • Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience required for this role.
  • License or Certification: None specified.

Team Contribution and Leadership

As a Baker Lead, you will serve as a department role model and mentor. You will assist management in various employee-related functions, including hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees. Your ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships and support team goals is essential.
