About the Business Development & Applications Engineer Role
Eaton, a power management company, is seeking a Business Development & Applications Engineer to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position involves developing and implementing strategies to drive business growth and provide energy-efficient power management solutions to customers. Key Responsibilities
The primary focus of this role is to drive business development, marketing, and sales initiatives. Key responsibilities include:
- Identifying and evaluating business opportunities with existing and potential customers to develop tailored solutions.
- Developing implementation plans and driving demand generation through value-based selling.
- Building and maintaining a partner network of OEMs and service providers, fostering strong relationships with key decision-makers.
- Taking ownership of a defined vertical industry within the EMEA Region, developing and executing segment strategies and sales playbooks in collaboration with regional sales and marketing teams.
- Planning and executing local sales, go-to-market, and strategic business development initiatives aligned with the EMEA Regional Sales strategy.
- Achieving sales targets, proactively addressing performance gaps, and implementing improvement plans.
- Creating and implementing annual market development plans based on country-specific market needs and partner landscapes.
- Conducting market analysis, developing forecasts, and evaluating customer research and competitor data to formulate country plans.
- Enhancing sales efficiency through comprehensive knowledge of technical and sales methods and solutions.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or an MBA, or an equivalent degree.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in Business Development, Sales, Technical Product Marketing, or Product Management.
- At least 5 years of regional experience in Saudi Arabia in a similar role.
Required Skills and Competencies
Successful candidates will demonstrate the following skills:
- Previous experience in technical/commercial sales and marketing within industrial markets in the Middle East, specifically the KSA region, preferably in electrification or power distribution systems.
- Background in Heavy Industries and/or Critical Infrastructure sectors such as Logistic Centers, New Energies, Data Centers, Airports, and Hospitals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong critical thinking abilities to identify areas for improvement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and customer relationship management (CRM) software, with experience in HubSpot being an advantage.
- Ability to understand and read single line diagrams.
- Familiarity with Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) electrical equipment.
- Understanding of various electrical terminologies relevant to building, factory, and plant setups.

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh.
