About the Business Development Officer Role
Pace is seeking a Business Development Officer to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of experience and focuses on implementing and assisting in the development of the company's business development strategy.
Role Objectives and Strategic Implementation
The primary objective of this role is to execute Pace's strategic business development plan in alignment with the company's long-term vision. This includes actively contributing to the establishment and refinement of the overall business development strategy and annual action plans.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Implement the approved business development strategic plan.
- Assist in the formulation of the business development strategy and plan.
- Support Business Development (BD) activities during the bidding process, including client networking, project initiation, prequalification, project positioning, proposal review, and client communication.
- Gather and analyze market data, maintain the BD tracker/CRM, and prepare prequalification documents and expressions of interest.
- Contribute to the support of the BD yearly action plan.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
- Assist in positioning Pace favorably for new business opportunities.
- Collaborate with department personnel to create prequalification and other necessary documentation.
- Review market data from various sources and communicate findings to the BD team.
- Plan and arrange meetings, preparing necessary presentation or handout materials.
- Facilitate and build relationships with governmental authorities and private sector clients.
- Optimize the Pace brand and secure competitive advantage to support client satisfaction throughout project stages and post-completion.
- Meet with clients and governmental bodies to enhance communication and relationship continuity.
- Implement public relations and client interface strategies to promote a positive corporate image.
- Gather market technical data for proposals in collaboration with operations assistants to increase win rates.
- Provide insights for developing successful bidding strategies.
- Respond to client queries and develop/update contact lists for current and future clients.
- Follow and implement CRM system procedures and generate required reports.
- Prepare reports and review the BD tracker for relevant meetings.
- Identify business development opportunities through personal and professional networks.
- Gather market studies and data for business development assessments.
- Understand market pipeline projects through various market materials.
- Prepare BD annual reports, coordinate BD meetings, and follow up on client meetings.
- Assist in the live bidding cycle and communicate with authorities to ensure a smooth bidding process.
- Assist in ensuring the full implementation of Pace health and safety policies and procedures.
Professional Conduct and Collaboration
This role requires establishing a collaborative team-work approach for BD processes. Candidates must communicate ethically and positively at all levels, adhering to daily business protocols, etiquette, and Pace values. Attending client meetings, taking notes, and assisting in optimizing client satisfaction are key aspects. Developing new business development opportunities and plans is also a core responsibility.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Engineering or Architecture.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Business Development within an engineering consulting firm.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficiency in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
- Proficiency in Website and Social Media applications and analytics.
