About the Business Development Specialist Role

Tamara, a leading fintech platform in Saudi Arabia and the GCC region, is seeking a Business Development Specialist to join its Business Development Team. The company's mission is to empower individuals to achieve their aspirations through a customer-centric financial super-app. Tamara serves millions of users and collaborates with prominent global and regional brands, alongside small and medium-sized businesses. As Saudi Arabia's first fintech unicorn, Tamara is supported by investors including Sanabil Investments and SNB Capital. The company operates from its headquarters in Riyadh, with additional support offices.

Role Overview and Objectives

The Business Development Specialist will play a key role in driving new business growth for Tamara. This involves identifying, qualifying, and establishing new partnerships. The specialist will work closely with partnerships managers, partner success teams, and marketing to develop outreach strategies and prioritize opportunities based on their potential impact. The objective is to create unique customer experiences through these partnerships and contribute to revolutionizing how users shop, pay, and bank.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive new business by identifying, qualifying, and developing new partnership opportunities for Tamara.
  • Collaborate with Partnerships Managers, Partner Success, and Marketing teams to strategize creative outreach campaigns and determine outreach priorities based on potential impact.
  • Manage the initial stages of the Business Development pipeline by performing outreach and nurturing leads through inbound channels, including phone, email, and social media.
  • Acquire new clients, drive revenue, and increase market share within the e-commerce industry to meet or exceed sales quotas.
  • Engage potential partners to understand their goals and challenges, and educate them on the value proposition of Tamara.
  • Develop best practices and efficient processes for expanding the merchant partner base.
  • Contribute significantly to Tamara’s growth as the core business and product scale.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Experience in business development, sales, or lead generation.
  • Written and verbal fluency in both Arabic and English.
  • Ability to work with data, generate insights, and create PowerPoint presentations for sales pitches.
