Role Overview

Astek Middle East is seeking an experienced Lead Cloud Engineer to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is central to defining, owning, and executing the company's hybrid cloud strategy. The position requires a strong background in financial services and deep, hands-on expertise across various cloud environments.

Strategic Cloud Leadership

As a lead technical role, this position involves acting as the senior technical authority for cloud and infrastructure decisions. The Lead Cloud Engineer will be responsible for driving secure and compliant on-premise to cloud migrations within regulated environments, ensuring minimal business risk and adherence to industry standards.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and management of hybrid cloud environments, encompassing both on-premise and cloud platforms.
• Own and execute on-premise to cloud migrations with a focus on minimizing business risk.
• Design secure cloud landing zones, comprehensive networking solutions, and robust identity integrations.
• Optimize cloud cost, performance, reliability, and scalability across all deployed services.
• Ensure high availability, resilience, security, and performance across various cloud platforms.
• Lead infrastructure lifecycle management activities, including capacity planning, patching, and upgrades.
• Act as the senior technical authority for all cloud and infrastructure-related decisions.
• Drive the adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and advanced automation practices.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and modern application delivery models to enhance development efficiency.

Required Experience and Expertise

Candidates must possess over 10 years of experience in cloud engineering, with a significant focus on financial services. This includes extensive hands-on expertise in designing, implementing, and managing complex on-premise, hybrid, and public cloud environments. Proven success in delivering secure and compliant migrations within regulated environments is essential.

Technical Acumen and Methodologies

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical leadership in cloud architecture, security, and operational best practices. Proficiency in driving IaC adoption, automation, and supporting modern CI/CD pipelines is critical. The role requires a deep understanding of cloud optimization techniques for cost, performance, and reliability.
