About the Role
KAFAAT Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Customs Officer for one of its clients in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role is responsible for the comprehensive management and oversight of all customs clearance activities, with a particular focus on chemical shipments, including hazardous and dangerous materials. The Customs Officer will ensure timely clearance of goods, strict adherence to regulations, and seamless coordination with relevant platforms and governmental authorities. The position may also require representing the company during shipment movements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and execute end-to-end customs clearance processes for all chemical shipments, including hazardous and dangerous materials.
- Ensure complete compliance with all Saudi customs laws, regulations, and safety standards for the import and export of chemical products.
- Process and manage all necessary documentation through relevant government platforms efficiently and accurately.
- Coordinate effectively with customs authorities, port officials, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders to facilitate smooth and timely clearance of shipments.
- Monitor shipment status and proactively resolve any customs-related issues or delays.
- Ensure the correct classification, labeling, and declaration of all chemical and hazardous materials in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain meticulous records and generate comprehensive reports related to customs clearance activities.
- Stay updated on changes in customs regulations, trade compliance policies, and specific requirements for handling chemical materials.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in customs clearance, with a preference for experience in the chemicals-related industry.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in clearing dangerous materials through customs.
- A strong working knowledge of governmental platforms relevant to customs and trade operations in Saudi Arabia.
- A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a closely related scientific field.
- Willingness and availability to travel and escort shipments multiple times per month, as required.
