About the Role

Kroll is seeking a Director of Tax Transaction Advisory Services to join its team in Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves providing expert tax advice and managing client relationships within the investment management sector, focusing on complex tax issues across various jurisdictions and tax codes.

Role Context and Responsibilities

As a specialist in transaction tax advisory services, you will offer a broad range of evolving services to meet client needs. This is a technical, client-facing role with the opportunity to develop specialized knowledge and expertise. You will collaborate with legal counsel and local specialists where required, advancing your business development skills and managing your own client portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical and commercial oversight on tax and Zakat matters within due diligence projects for buy-side and sell-side transactions in Saudi Arabia and the wider MENA region.
• Advise on pre-acquisition and post-acquisition tax structuring, including tax input into legal documents and financial models.
• Deliver inbound and outbound tax and Zakat advisory services to help multinational companies and investors align their strategies with their business objectives.
• Offer international and domestic tax/Zakat structuring and planning for clients in Saudi Arabia and the wider MENA region.
• Oversee advice on international tax issues such as earnings repatriation, tax credit planning, cross-border mergers, financing, intangibles planning, and worldwide tax management strategies.
• Serve as a primary senior point of contact for clients in Saudi Arabia, managing queries, anticipating requests, and maintaining regular client contact.
• Undertake highly technical tax and Zakat advisory projects with managing director support.
• Coach, mentor, and counsel junior staff members.
• Proactively develop a professional network to identify new business opportunities and drive workflow.
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications and Experience

• An economics degree with a focus on accounting, auditing, and/or taxes, or an equivalent qualification.
• A minimum of 9 years of tax/transactions experience, including recent experience in Saudi Arabia and the wider MENA region.
• A solid understanding of the structure of private equity and sovereign wealth funds, with experience advising funds, corporates, or government entities across the investment lifecycle.
• Awareness of other relevant taxes in the MENA region, such as VAT, RETT, Customs, and Social Security.
• Knowledge of the international tax environment and recent developments in the wider MENA region.
• Proven expertise in tax and Zakat matters, with strong project oversight and management skills.
