About the Role

Alfanar is seeking an experienced ENGINEER PROCUREMENT to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires 5-10 years of experience in procurement, focusing on sourcing, contracting, and supplier development to ensure the acquisition of materials and services with the right specifications, price, quality, and delivery timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute core procurement activities including sourcing, contracting, and supplier development for requested materials, services, assets, MRO, and general purchasing.
  • Develop and evaluate suppliers to meet objectives related to cost savings, delivery performance, and material quality, establishing development plans and conducting regular performance evaluations.
  • Visit suppliers for prequalification, evaluation, and development, strengthening business partnerships in coordination with commodity heads and business unit (BU) quality teams.
  • Execute sourcing and contracting plans based on the Alfanar sourcing strategy, maximizing contracted items with approved suppliers to secure favorable terms and reduce purchasing cycle time.
  • Ensure commercial, legal, and contractual compliance in all procurement transactions.
  • Understand detailed requirements for each purchase request, coordinating with requesters and BU technical teams.
  • Manage the execution of purchase requests by processing RFx from identified source lists and negotiating for the best purchase conditions, including specifications, delivery time, and cost elements.
  • Initiate alternative material specifications based on market availability with BU technical team involvement.
  • Compare quotations using approved forms, considering landed cost and delivery terms, and issue Purchase Orders (POs) to winning suppliers.
  • Ensure POs have all required attached documents, follow the Alfanar PO approval matrix, and send approved POs to suppliers, following up on acknowledgments and delivery schedules.
  • Manage vendor master information, ensuring it is up-to-date, and handle non-conformity processes for rejected materials, leading corrective actions with relevant departments.

  • Maintain and update soft and technical skills relevant to the job, and develop a career path plan.
  • Perform planned activities to meet operational and development targets within delivery schedules, utilizing resources effectively for cost and time efficiency.
  • Provide periodic reports detailing deviations and execution of planned tasks.
  • Resolve related problems and escalate complex operational issues.
  • Ensure quality requirements are met by developing effective quality control processes and specifications.
  • Coordinate well-defined written systems and policies, and seek automation opportunities.
  • Comply with related policies, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental management procedures within the defined work area.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in procurement. A strong understanding of sourcing, contracting, supplier development, and purchasing processes is essential. Experience in managing purchase orders and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures is required.
