About the Financial Accounting Specialist Role
Ethra For Human Resources Consulting is seeking a Financial Accounting Specialist to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of experience in financial accounting and offers an opportunity to contribute to the company's financial operations. The salary for this role is not disclosed.
Core Responsibilities
The Financial Accounting Specialist will be responsible for a range of accounting tasks to ensure the accuracy and compliance of financial records. Key duties include recording and posting journal entries, preparing accruals and provisions, and performing monthly reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts. This role also involves investigating and resolving reconciliation differences, maintaining proper documentation for audit purposes, and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities. Ensuring transactions are recorded in the correct accounting period and reviewing general ledger balances for abnormal movements are also critical functions.
Key Accounting Duties
- Recording and posting manual and system-generated journal entries.
- Ensuring accuracy, completeness, and proper supporting documentation for accounting entries.
- Preparing accruals, prepayments, provisions, and adjusting entries.
- Maintaining proper mapping of transactions to GL accounts and cost centers.
- Performing monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts, including bank, AR/AP control, inventory, payroll, and intercompany accounts.
- Investigating and resolving reconciliation differences in a timely manner.
- Maintaining reconciliation schedules with proper documentation for audit purposes.
- Assisting in the preparation of trial balance and financial reporting schedules.
- Proposing adjusting entries when required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 2-5 years of experience in General Ledger or Financial Accounting.
- SOCPA certification is required.
- Hands-on SAP experience is required.
- Strong knowledge of General Ledger accounting.
- Experience in account reconciliations.
- Knowledge of month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Familiarity with IFRS and SOCPA requirements.
- Strong English communication skills are required.
Preferred Industry Experience
Experience in the pharmaceutical or manufacturing industry is preferred but not mandatory for this role.
Work Environment
This is a full-time position based in Riyadh. The role operates within a professional consulting environment focused on human resources.
