About the Role

Airbus Helicopters Arabia for Aircraft Maintenance is seeking a Head of Accounting to manage financial operations and reporting from its Riyadh location. This is a contract position requiring over 10 years of experience in accounting.

Financial Management and Reporting

The Head of Accounting will be responsible for the preparation and timely submission of financial statements and group reporting packages, including ICART and FACTS+. This role involves regular coordination with the Group Consolidation team, reviewing journal vouchers, and analyzing general ledgers. A key aspect of this position is ensuring adherence to Airbus processes and compliance regulations, along with proactively conducting monthly deviation analysis of financial statements to support local and Head Office finance queries.

Audit Coordination and Tax Support

This role leads the coordination of annual financial audits, both internal and external. Responsibilities include preparing requested statements for auditors, proactively managing audit schedules and requirements by following up with team members and departments, and liaising with auditors to organize meetings. Additionally, the Head of Accounting will support the Tax Manager in finalizing annual income tax returns.

Accounting Operations and Closing Activities

The position oversees banking payments and treasury matters, providing guidance and support to the accounting team. This includes supervising day-to-day operations, reviewing work, and fostering professional development within the team. Ensuring timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings through supervision of accounting operations and coordination with Controlling is essential. The role also involves participation in payroll projects, withholding tax applications, payable and receivable controls, and cash flow monitoring. Management of people to achieve desired results, support for vacation backup, and handling ad-hoc requirements from Head Office Finance are also key duties.

Accounting Standards and Process Improvement

This role requires understanding and implementing changes in financial reporting due to organizational structure shifts. Continuous development and improvement of accounting and control procedures and policies are expected. Support for assignments related to tax assessment and tax authority requirements, along with monitoring cash flow, payables, receivables, affiliated companies, and government utilities, falls under this area. Efforts to improve accounting and reporting processes are also a focus.

Cross-Functional and Intercompany Communication

Key responsibilities include monitoring and verifying intercompany balances, developing clearing strategies, and managing inter-company reconciliations. Coordination with Group team members to address issues and enhance processes and procedures is vital. Support for Regional One Roof Finance initiatives is also required.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must possess a minimum Bachelor's degree in Accounting. A CPA or SOCPA qualification is preferable. A minimum of 10 years of accounting experience, with exposure to both local and multinational cultural environments, is required. Proficiency in finance, accounting, internal control, compliance, IFRS, local taxation, and local commercial laws is essential. The ability to analyze financial data and prepare reports, statements, and projections is critical. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Mastery of Excel and SAP is mandatory. Strong leadership skills, the ability to quickly analyze and interpret data, and flexibility, adaptability, enthusiasm, motivation, and self-confidence are also necessary. Excellent communication skills, with experience in local and multinational cultural environments, are required. Fluency in both written and spoken English and Arabic is essential.
