About the Role
W Hotels in Riyadh is seeking a Heart of House Talent Coach (Supervisor Stewards) for a full-time position. This role involves overseeing and supporting the stewarding team to ensure efficient kitchen operations and maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and assist stewards in optimizing clean-up processes for efficiency.
- Ensure appropriate water temperatures and chemical levels for cleaning, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Provide support during banquet plate-ups.
- Assist cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks as required, including providing necessary items.
- Support banquet and buffet operations by transporting items and ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Return cleaned items to their designated storage locations.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools, such as the dishwashing machine, hand wash stations, pot-scrubbing station, and trash compactor.
Team Leadership and Development
Assist management with key human resources functions, including hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluation, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching of employees. This involves fostering a positive and productive work environment for the stewarding team.
Operational Standards and Safety
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to safety and security.
- Report any accidents, injuries, or unsafe working conditions to management promptly.
- Complete all required safety training and certifications.
- Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
- Protect company assets and maintain the confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards in all stewarding operations.
Guest Interaction and Teamwork
Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipating and addressing their service needs. Communicate effectively with colleagues using clear and professional language. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others and support the team in achieving common goals.
Qualifications and Physical Requirements
This role requires 5-10 years of relevant experience. The physical demands include the ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. Employees must be able to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and perform tasks requiring reaching overhead, below the knees, and bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Movement may occur over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces. Performing other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors is also expected.
