About the Role

Bunge is seeking a Jefe de Seguridad y Medio Ambiente (Safety and Environment Manager) to join their team in Buenos Aires. This full-time position requires a professional with 2-5 years of experience in safety and environmental management, focused on leading teams and ensuring compliance with critical protection plans.

Key Responsibilities

The role involves managing and leading a work team, fostering a diverse and inclusive culture, and prioritizing people development. Key duties include:

  • Leading the NFZ audit program and participating in external FPA Audits.
  • Maintaining and updating the critical protection adaptation plan, ensuring minimum controls are in place.
  • Implementing the company's defined Key Requirements and Critical Controls.
  • Ensuring legal compliance with control bodies such as ART, the Ministry of Labor, and Government Agencies.
  • Updating safety indicators, monitoring action plans, and coordinating Safety Committee meetings.
  • Influencing other plant leaders to achieve compliance with indicators and manage action plans.
  • Implementing the EHSQ system and managing pending items for relevant modules.
  • Participating in the Joint Hygiene and Safety Committee with unions.
  • Ensuring operability of fire protection systems, including hydrant networks, sprinklers, and foam systems for tanks.
  • Coordinating and training the Industrial Emergency Brigade based on risk scenarios.
  • Leading the BPS Safety pillar by implementing its activities.
  • Collaborating with other areas to ensure integrated processes, considering safety, quality, and environmental aspects.

Process Safety and Risk Management

This position plays a crucial role in process safety and risk management, including:

  • Accompanying compliance with inspection routines to guarantee safety in critical process areas.
  • Participating in risk analyses (HAZOP; DHA) of critical processes.
  • Participating in management of change (MOC) analyses and pre-startup safety reviews (PSSR) for new projects.
  • Executing labor hygiene monitoring programs, safety audits, and ASP presentations in a timely manner, complying with legal requirements.
  • Participating in risk analysis management and work permits, and auditing compliance with defined controls.
  • Keeping the emergency plan updated and exercising it periodically.

Training and Development

The role requires a commitment to continuous learning and team development:

  • Actively participating in necessary technical training defined by the company.
  • Keeping the annual training plan updated and collaborating in its coordination and execution.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • A degree in Hygiene and Safety, Industrial Engineering, Chemistry, or Environmental Engineering is mandatory.
  • A valid professional license is mandatory.
  • At least 4-5 years of experience in similar positions within the oil, petrochemical, chemical, or grain industries.
  • Previous experience leading work teams is mandatory.
  • Advanced English proficiency is mandatory.
  • Knowledge in SAP is desirable.
  • Experience in root cause analysis is desirable.
