About the Role
Americana Foods is seeking a Key Account Manager to lead sales within the modern trade channel in Riyadh. This full-time position requires a strategic individual to establish a competitive edge across a broad product range and foster market success through effective collaboration and planning.
Key Responsibilities
The Key Account Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing relationships with key retail partners, including major supermarkets and hypermarkets such as Panda, Othaim, Carrefour, Danube, Bin Dawood, and Tamimi. This involves developing and implementing sales strategies to enhance market share, identifying new business opportunities, and maximizing brand presence. A core part of the role includes negotiating terms of trade (BDA), including pricing, promotions, and product availability, to ensure favorable agreements. Collaboration with trade marketing teams is essential for planning and executing in-store promotions and campaigns. The role also requires monitoring market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activities to adapt strategies and maintain a competitive edge. Additionally, the Key Account Manager will lead, motivate, and train the key accounts team, develop customer relationships with key decision-makers, and determine the optimal structure for the sales organization. Budget management for the modern trade channel and the creation of tools for evaluating business outcomes and performance are also key duties.
Operational Execution
Operational duties include collaborating with the area sales manager to communicate plans to the modern trade team, ensuring collections align with accounts receivable, and reviewing claims related to activities. Verification of BDA elements on the ground and working with the merchandising team to oversee product availability and visibility are also critical functions.
Team Leadership and Development
This role involves supervising activities within the modern trade area to ensure efficient operations consistent with procedures and policies. The Key Account Manager will also serve as a benchmark for nominating team members for training, ensuring they receive necessary development to meet required standards.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in business administration. The role requires 5 to 8 years of experience in sales, specifically within key accounts and the modern trade channel.
