Join Our Team as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer!

ADWAN CHEMICALS SPA is seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer in Riyadh to design, develop, and maintain mechanical systems for our chemical equipment. This full-time position is crucial for ensuring the efficient operations of our plant.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical and Operational Tasks:
    • Design and develop mechanical systems for chemical equipment, including pumps, heat exchangers, tanks, and piping systems.
    • Supervise the installation and maintenance of mechanical equipment in the plant.
    • Analyze causes of recurring failures and provide engineering solutions to minimize downtime.
    • Support operations to maintain stable temperatures, pressures, and flow in systems.
  • Safety and Environment:
    • Ensure mechanical equipment operates according to industrial and environmental safety standards.
    • Participate in mechanical risk assessments and develop emergency plans.
    • Cooperate with the Safety and Environment Department for compliance with MODON and Environment Authority regulations.
  • Administrative and Technical Tasks:
    • Prepare periodic reports on equipment status and operational efficiency.
    • Manage the technical team, assigning tasks based on production and maintenance priorities.
    • Participate in selecting suppliers and new equipment based on specifications.
    • Propose solutions to improve energy efficiency and reduce resource consumption.
    • Stay updated on the latest technologies in chemical equipment.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry.

About the Role:
The Maintenance Automation Engineer is responsible for maintaining and optimizing automated systems and equipment within the Body in White (BIW) lines. This role ensures high equipment availability and performance through effective troubleshooting, programming, and preventive maintenance of PLCs and other automation technologies. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams and report directly to the Maintenance Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automated systems including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, motor drives, and robotic arms.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve automation-related issues to minimize production downtime.
  • Modify and optimize PLC programs and robotic routines to improve equipment performance.
  • Support the installation and commissioning of new automated equipment in the BIW line.
  • Maintain documentation of automation systems, including wiring diagrams, program backups, and change logs.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and support root cause analysis for recurring issues.
  • Train maintenance technicians on automation systems and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Identify spares requirements for control systems.
  • Keep up with current and developing control system trends regarding maintenance.
  • Architect, write, and debug PLC ladder logic.
  • Ensure PLC code interacts with subsystems such as conveyors, robots, and more.
  • Enforce application of Lucid Motors standards.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation and Control, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering.
  • 35 years of experience in automation maintenance within the automotive industry, preferably in BIW.
  • Hands-on experience with PLCs, robotics, and automated assembly systems.
  • Knowledge of TPM, lean manufacturing, and safety standards.
  • Proficiency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
