About the Role

Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts is seeking a full-time Housekeeping Manager in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role is responsible for the daily shift operations of Housekeeping, Recreation/Health Club, and Laundry services, where applicable. The Manager will direct and collaborate with employees to ensure guestrooms, public spaces, and employee areas are consistently clean and well-maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily Housekeeping shift operations, ensuring compliance with all policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Inspect guestrooms daily and communicate room status to the Front Desk in a timely manner.
  • Prepare work assignments based on lists of rooms to be cleaned and prospective check-outs.
  • Manage inventory to ensure adequate supplies for all operations.
  • Support and supervise an effective inspection program for all guestrooms and public spaces.
  • Communicate areas needing attention to staff and follow up to ensure understanding and corrective action.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, conveying clear and consistent messages regarding departmental goals.

Managing Operations and Budgets

This position involves understanding the impact of departmental operations on overall property financial goals and objectives, with a focus on achieving or exceeding budgeted goals. The manager ensures all employees have proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms, and supports an effective inspection program for all guestrooms and public spaces.

Human Resources Activities

  • Utilize available on-the-job training tools for new room attendants and provide follow-up training as needed.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with employees, ensuring they do the same with each other.
  • Schedule employees according to business demands and track time and attendance.
  • Ensure employees understand expectations and parameters.
  • Verify property policies are administered fairly and consistently, and disciplinary procedures are completed according to Standard and Local Operating Procedures (SOPs and LSOPs).
  • Supervise staffing levels to meet guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives.
  • Observe employee service behaviors and provide constructive feedback.
  • Participate in and ensure employee recognition programs are implemented across all shifts.
  • Solicit employee feedback, utilize an "open door" policy, and review employee satisfaction results to address concerns.

Ensuring Guest Satisfaction

The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for setting a positive example for guest relations and understanding the brand's service culture. This includes participating in the development and implementation of corrective action plans to improve guest satisfaction, empowering employees to provide excellent customer service, and emphasizing continuous improvement in all departmental meetings. The role also involves responding to and resolving guest problems and complaints effectively.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in housekeeping operations within the hospitality industry. The ability to complete inspections, hold staff accountable for corrective actions, and assist in ensuring both guest and employee satisfaction while managing operating budgets is essential.
