About the Patient Care Technician Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position offers an opportunity to contribute directly to patient care within a leading healthcare institution. No prior experience is required for this role, making it an excellent entry point for individuals completing a one-year Patient Care Technician program.

Role Overview and Contribution

The Patient Care Technician plays a vital role in the daily functioning of the unit and department, providing essential support for patient care. This position contributes to the delivery of safe, patient- and family-focused quality care, aligning with the organization's values. The role also supports the achievement of clinical quality outcome indicators, including patient satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct assistance to patients with personal hygiene needs, including bathing, dressing, toileting, and oral care.
• Assist patients with eating and drinking, ensuring fresh water is readily available.
• Support patient mobility through assisting with movement, handling, repositioning bedridden patients, and mobilization.
• Monitor patient activities and report all relevant information, including unusual occurrences, to the Staff Nurse I / Staff Nurse II in a timely and appropriate manner.
• Measure and record vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and oxygen saturation, as well as food and fluid intake/output and height/weight, reporting any abnormal readings.
• Accurately measure, empty, and document the contents of urinary catheters and drains.
• Document all relevant patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
• Receive patients upon admission, orienting them to their room, unit, and available services.
• Prepare patients for procedures as directed, assist physicians, and remain with the patient if required.
• Collect specimens such as urine, feces, or sputum as directed.
• Provide comfort measures, including back care and massage, as needed.
• Assist patients with preparations for prayer if necessary.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Completion of a one-year Patient Care Technician (PCT) Program.
• No experience required.
• Current Patient Care Technician licensure from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
• Saudi Nationals only.
