Sahara Maintenance Services, a leading manufacturer of high-quality Porcelain Enameled Steel, is seeking a Production Engineer specializing in Porcelain Enameling. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Role Overview

The Production Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the entire porcelain enameling process on steel. This includes managing all stages from raw material handling through to final firing, ensuring process efficiency and product quality within a continuous manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and optimize the production line, including milling, slip application, and high-temperature furnace firing (approximately 850°C).
• Establish and monitor Critical Process Parameters (CPPs) and conduct quality tests such as adhesion, hardness, chemical resistance, and color.
• Diagnose and resolve complex production defects, including peeling, blistering, crazing, and color variation.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance for defect analysis and Corrective Actions (CAPA), and with Maintenance for equipment optimization and Preventive Maintenance (PM) planning.
• Train, mentor, and supervise operators and technicians.
• Control the inventory of key raw materials.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Materials/Metallurgical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering is essential. Specialized certification or training in Ceramic Engineering, Coating Technology, or Corrosion Science is highly preferred.
• Minimum Experience: 3–5 years of hands-on experience in a continuous process-manufacturing environment.
• Technical Experience: Proven background in industrial coating processes (*, powder coating, wet painting, galvanizing) OR ceramic/glass manufacturing. Experience in furnace operation and thermal profiling is mandatory.
• Target Profile: Direct experience in Porcelain (Vitreous) Enameling on metal substrates.
• Alternative Profile: A high-potential Materials or Chemical Engineer with a strong academic background in surface science, adhesion, or coatings, demonstrating high adaptability.

Required Technical Skills

• In-depth understanding of surface preparation (cleaning, pickling, priming) and thermal processing.
• Knowledge of steel properties, ceramic frit compositions, and thermal expansion compatibility.
• Proficiency in Quality Assurance (QA) tools, lab test interpretation, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Familiarity with milling equipment, spray systems, continuous/batch furnaces, and basic PLC systems.
• Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD.
