About the Role

CAE is seeking a dedicated Project Accountant (Defence) to join its agile Middle East team. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, supporting projects across the region. As a key finance partner within the Defence & Security division, you will manage project financials from inception to completion, collaborating closely with Project Managers to provide financial insights and support key decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the monthly forecasting cycle for Profit & Loss (P&L) and Balance Sheet, in close partnership with Project Managers during the Project Review Cycle (PRC).
  • Monitor project financial performance and implement proactive measures to maximize gross margin and cash flow.
  • Own and continuously improve cost accounting processes, working collaboratively with cost centre owners.
  • Support the preparation of the annual budget, monthly management accounts, and statutory accounts.
  • Manage reconciliations across accounting ledgers to ensure accurate and accessible data.
  • Contribute to business planning and investment risk evaluation.
  • Assist with pricing and costing activities for new opportunities and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).
  • Develop financial scenarios and cash-flow analyses (including UBR/UER) and support project set-up/creation activities.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial forecasts, models, and decision-support analyses as required.
  • Ensure appropriate application of IFRS, including IFRS 15.
  • Coordinate and support all internal and external audit requirements.
  • Undertake other related duties as assigned to support the team and business objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a KSA national; sponsorship is not provided for this role.
  • University degree in accounting or finance, or a recognized accounting qualification (*, CMA, CA, CGA, ACCA).
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial analysis, including financial reporting and performance analysis.
  • Experience in reconciling intercompany balances and transactions.
  • Strong analytical and technical accounting skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Practical experience applying IFRS, including IFRS 15.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of local Government Price Law.
  • Familiarity with Hyperion Enterprise and Oracle systems.

Work Context

This role is a full-time position based in Riyadh. You will be part of the Middle East team, contributing to the Defence & Security division. The position requires 5-10 years of relevant experience.
