About the Role

Parsons Corporation is seeking a Senior Document Controller to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position is integral to overseeing document management for a large-scale airport development program. The role requires a candidate with strong organizational skills and leadership capabilities, experienced in complex infrastructure or aviation projects.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Senior Document Controller will be responsible for establishing and maintaining project document control systems, processes, and procedures in line with project and client requirements. Key duties include managing the receipt, registration, distribution, tracking, filing, and archiving of all project documentation. The role involves ensuring all incoming and outgoing documents are properly controlled, logged, and transmitted promptly, while maintaining document numbering systems, revision controls, and workflows. Administering electronic document management systems (EDMS) to ensure data accuracy and integrity is also a core function. The Senior Document Controller will ensure compliance with company standards, project procedures, and quality management requirements, and monitor document control activities to align with contractual and regulatory obligations.

  • Coordinating with engineering, construction, procurement, commercial, and client teams regarding document submissions and approvals.
  • Serving as the focal point for document control matters between contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.
  • Tracking document review cycles and following up on overdue submissions and approvals.
  • Facilitating efficient communication and information flow across project teams.
  • Preparing regular reports on document status, submission logs, outstanding actions, and workflow performance.
  • Monitoring KPIs related to document turnaround times and compliance metrics.
  • Identifying bottlenecks and recommending process improvements.
  • Managing final handover documentation, as-built records, and closeout documentation.
  • Ensuring secure storage and retrieval of confidential and sensitive documents.
  • Supporting project closeout activities and long-term records retention requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Information Management, Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 10 years of experience in document control within construction, infrastructure, or airport projects is required. Experience leading document control functions on large-scale or multidisciplinary projects is essential. The role demands a strong understanding of project documentation processes and workflows, along with proficiency in EDMS platforms such as Aconex, SharePoint, Documentum, or similar systems. Strong knowledge of document control standards, procedures, and best practices is necessary.

Experience managing document control during project closeout and handover phases is also beneficial. Strong leadership and team management capabilities, along with the ability to work effectively in multicultural and multidisciplinary environments, are advantageous.
