Job Description

About the Role

DeepSource Technologies is seeking a Senior Infrastructure & Multi-Cloud Automation / IaC Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, KSA. This full-time position requires a minimum of 10 years of experience and focuses on driving infrastructure automation across private cloud, OCI, GCP, SIT, virtualization, and systems operations. The role is primarily centered on infrastructure automation and operational control, rather than application DevOps.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Infrastructure & Multi-Cloud Automation / IaC Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Designing and implementing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) templates for environments including OCI, GCP, SIT, private cloud, VMware/VCF, and general systems.
  • Automating the provisioning of infrastructure across cloud, virtualization, and systems platforms.
  • Developing reusable automation templates for compute, network, Identity and Access Management (IAM), storage integration, monitoring, and backup onboarding.
  • Standardizing automation patterns using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, scripting, and native platform tools.
  • Reducing manual provisioning and repetitive operational tasks across various infrastructure domains.
  • Supporting automation for virtual machine lifecycles, cloud resource provisioning, patching workflows, and operational handovers.
  • Managing cloud infrastructure asset management automation across OCI, GCP, SIT, and private cloud environments.
  • Maintaining automated cloud inventory and resource discovery workflows, identifying orphaned, unused, or underutilized resources.
  • Automating reporting and cleanup workflows for orphaned objects, adhering to approval and change control processes.
  • Implementing tagging standards for ownership, environment, cost center, service, criticality, lifecycle status, and business owner.
  • Supporting cloud resource lifecycle management from provisioning through decommissioning.
  • Integrating cloud asset data with CMDB/ServiceNow where applicable.
  • Generating regular reports on cloud inventory, utilization, hygiene, and optimization, and supporting FinOps reporting by identifying waste and optimization opportunities.
  • Ensuring automation templates enforce standard naming, tagging, and governance policies.
  • Defining automation standards, reusable templates, coding practices, and operational runbooks.
  • Supporting integration between automation workflows, ITSM, monitoring, and operational processes.
  • Collaborating with Storage, Backup, Virtualization, Cloud, and Systems teams to identify automation opportunities.
  • Reviewing and approving automation code, scripts, and templates.
  • Guiding junior automation engineers and tower engineers on automation practices.
  • Ensuring automation activities comply with change management and approval processes.
  • Maintaining version-controlled repositories for infrastructure automation assets.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in infrastructure, cloud, virtualization, systems, or automation roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Terraform and Ansible.
  • Experience automating infrastructure across at least two of the following: OCI, GCP, VMware/VCF, private cloud, Windows, or Linux.
  • A solid understanding of infrastructure operations, provisioning, patching, monitoring, lifecycle management, and operational governance.
  • Experience with cloud landing zones, IAM, networking, compute, storage, and monitoring automation.
  • Experience in cloud asset inventory, tagging governance, and resource lifecycle management.
  • Experience identifying orphaned cloud resources such as unused disks, unattached IPs, idle VMs, orphan snapshots, unused buckets, stale accounts/projects, and unused network objects.
  • Proficiency in scripting using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar languages.
  • Familiarity with Git and version control for automation templates.
  • Understanding of ITSM, ServiceNow, change management, and operational approval workflows.
  • Ability to design reusable automation frameworks, not solely standalone scripts.
