About the Role

DeepSource is seeking a Senior Infrastructure & Multi-Cloud Automation / IaC Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, KSA. This full-time position focuses on driving infrastructure automation across various environments, including private cloud, OCI, GCP, SIT, virtualization, and systems operations. The primary goal is to standardize infrastructure provisioning, enhance cloud asset inventory, eliminate orphaned resources, reduce manual operational effort, and enable scalable multi-cloud operations through Infrastructure-as-Code and automation.

Role Focus and Responsibilities

This role is centered on infrastructure automation rather than application DevOps. While DevOps knowledge is beneficial, the core responsibilities involve infrastructure automation, operational control, cloud hygiene, lifecycle governance, and improving managed operations efficiency. The Senior Infrastructure & Multi-Cloud Automation / IaC Engineer will be instrumental in designing and implementing Infrastructure-as-Code templates for OCI, GCP, SIT, private cloud, and VMware/VCF environments. Key tasks include automating infrastructure provisioning, building reusable automation templates for various infrastructure components, standardizing automation patterns using tools like Terraform and Ansible, and reducing manual operational tasks.

Infrastructure Automation and Provisioning

The engineer will automate infrastructure provisioning across cloud, virtualization, and systems platforms. This includes developing reusable automation templates for compute, network, IAM, storage integration, monitoring onboarding, and backup onboarding. A significant part of the role involves reducing manual provisioning and repetitive operational tasks across different infrastructure towers. Support will be provided for VM lifecycle automation, cloud resource provisioning, patching workflows, and operational handovers. Limited CI/CD or pipeline usage will be supported only where necessary for infrastructure automation workflows.

Cloud Asset Management and Governance

A key responsibility is owning cloud infrastructure asset management automation across OCI, GCP, SIT, and private cloud environments. This involves maintaining automated cloud inventory and resource discovery workflows, identifying orphaned, unused, or underutilized cloud resources, and automating reporting and cleanup workflows for orphaned objects, subject to approval and change control. The role also includes implementing tagging standards for ownership, environment, cost center, service, criticality, lifecycle status, and business owner, and supporting cloud resource lifecycle management from provisioning to decommissioning. Integration of cloud asset data with CMDB/ServiceNow and generating regular inventory, utilization, hygiene, and optimization reports are also critical. Support for FinOps reporting by identifying waste and optimization opportunities is expected, ensuring automation templates enforce standard naming, tagging, and governance policies.

Documentation, Standards, and Collaboration

The engineer will define automation standards, reusable templates, coding practices, and operational runbooks. Collaboration with Storage, Backup, Virtualization, Cloud, and Systems towers to identify automation opportunities is essential. The role involves reviewing and approving automation code, scripts, and templates, and guiding junior automation engineers and tower engineers on automation practices. Ensuring automation activities adhere to change management and approval processes, and maintaining version-controlled repositories for infrastructure automation assets are also key duties.

Qualifications and Experience

This role requires a minimum of 0-1 years of experience. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of infrastructure automation, Infrastructure-as-Code principles, and experience with multi-cloud environments such as OCI and GCP. Familiarity with automation tools like Terraform and Ansible, scripting languages, and virtualization technologies is expected. Experience in cloud asset management, governance, and operational integration is also important.
