About the Role

ECEC East Consulting Engineering Company is seeking a Senior Landscape Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves leading the successful delivery of all landscape and irrigation works for a prestigious mixed-use residential villa project. The incumbent will serve as the lead technical authority on site, ensuring project execution adheres to the highest standards.

Project Context and Scope

The Senior Landscape Engineer will be responsible for overseeing all elements of the project, including hardscape, softscape, irrigation, and water features. This role requires strict adherence to approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules. A key aspect is acting as the primary liaison between the contractor, the client/PMC, and the design team to resolve site issues and ensure client satisfaction while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Site Supervision and Quality Assurance

• Direct and manage all on-site activities related to landscaping, irrigation, hardscaping, water features, and associated works, overseeing contractor operations for compliance with contract documents.
• Implement and monitor stringent quality control procedures, inspecting all landscape installations, including plant selection, soil preparation, paving, and structural elements, to meet required specifications.
• Review and provide technical approval for all contractor submittals, including shop drawings, design proposals, method statements, and material samples. Verify the correctness and completeness of 'as-built' drawings.
• Review and respond to all Requests for Information (RFIs) from the contractor related to landscape works, coordinating with the design office to resolve discrepancies.

Project Management and Coordination

• Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the project schedule, tracking progress against milestones and implementing recovery actions to ensure timely completion.
• Act as the primary point of contact for all landscape-related matters, coordinating effectively with the client/PMC, the Contractor, and relevant local authorities.
• Participate in contract administration duties, including measurement and certification of completed works.

Compliance, Safety, and Team Leadership

• Actively champion a "Safety First" culture, ensuring all site activities comply with project HSE regulations and company safety protocols. Liaise with the HSE team to enforce safe practices.
• Ensure all landscape works comply with relevant local building codes, regulations, and guidelines for residential villa projects in Riyadh.
• Direct, assist, and monitor the performance of the construction supervision team, mentoring and guiding junior engineers to foster a high-performing and collaborative team culture.

Required Experience

Candidates for this role should possess 2-5 years of experience in landscape engineering, with a demonstrated ability to lead site supervision and project delivery for similar large-scale residential or mixed-use developments. A strong understanding of landscape design principles, irrigation systems, and construction methodologies is essential for success in this position.
