About the Role

AWS EMEA SARL (Saudi Arabia Branch) is seeking a Sr. Engagement Manager Prototyping AI and Customer Engineering (PACE) EMEA to join the team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves leading customer engagements within the AWS PACE team, focusing on transforming ambitious ideas into working technology proof points on AWS for enterprises in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the wider GCC region. The position requires 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Role Context and Impact

The Senior Prototyping Engagement Manager operates at the intersection of business strategy and emerging technology. This role identifies opportunities where generative AI, agentic systems, and cloud-native architectures can deliver significant value for customers. Responsibilities include shaping, qualifying, and driving engagements from initial conversation through to working prototype and beyond. The manager will pilot a pipeline of high-value innovation opportunities, build trust with C-suite and technical leaders, and collaborate with Prototyping Architects to deliver multi-week, hands-on engagements that mitigate transformation risks, validate new workloads, and accelerate customers' path to production.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and pilot a pipeline of innovation opportunities across KSA and the GCC, collaborating with account teams, specialists, and partners to identify value-unlocking applications of generative AI and cloud-native architecture.
• Rigorously qualify engagements by assessing business outcomes, customer commitment, and production pathways to ensure efficient resource allocation.
• Scope engagements that define clear, time-boxed prototypes with specific success criteria, working backward from desired customer outcomes.
• Drive engagements from kickoff to close, coordinating customer developers, AWS architects, and partners, mitigating risks, and ensuring demonstrated value and clear next steps upon completion.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, guiding executives through technology shifts and supporting confident investment decisions.
• Scale successful approaches by packaging repeatable motions and sharing them across the global PACE community.
• Represent customer insights internally, providing feedback to AWS service teams and influencing product roadmaps.

A Day in the Role

A typical day involves participating in a standup to unblock decisions for a generative AI prototype, scoping new engagements with enterprises exploring agentic AI, reviewing the innovation pipeline, and planning resources with a Prototyping Architect. The role also includes engaging with customer CTOs to discuss prototype results and paths to production, and documenting repeatable patterns for the wider PACE team.

The Team

The PACE (Prototyping AI and Customer Engineering) team is AWS's hands-on customer innovation unit. It collaborates directly with enterprise customers to develop prototypes that de-risk transformation and accelerate adoption. The team model pairs Engagement Managers, who shape opportunities, with Prototyping Architects, who shape the technology, to deliver tangible solutions. This role is part of EMEA PACE, supporting customers across KSA and the GCC, and is backed by a global community for knowledge sharing.
