About the Role

Hays is seeking a Sr Interior Architect / Designer for a contract position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This site-based role is responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of interior design projects throughout the construction and fit-out phases. The Senior Interior Architect / Designer will act as the primary interior design representative on site, ensuring the approved design vision is executed accurately while coordinating effectively with clients, contractors, consultants, suppliers, and the wider project team.

Core Responsibilities

The Senior Interior Architect / Designer will be central to maintaining design integrity and overseeing project execution on site. Key responsibilities include:

• Protecting and maintaining the approved design vision throughout the construction process.
• Conducting regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality.
• Providing technical design guidance and resolving site-related challenges.
• Coordinating with various project stakeholders to facilitate successful delivery.
• Ensuring interior design packages are delivered within agreed timelines and quality standards.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, contractors, and consultants.

Design Management and Technical Oversight

This role requires comprehensive design management and technical expertise to ensure precise implementation:

• Reviewing and interpreting design documentation to ensure successful implementation on site.
• Providing technical design guidance and solutions to contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
• Reviewing shop drawings, technical submissions, material samples, and mock-ups for compliance with project requirements and design intent.
• Resolving technical design issues while maintaining design quality and project objectives.
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices, materials, finishes, and construction methodologies.

Site Delivery and Project Coordination

The Senior Interior Architect / Designer will lead site-based activities and ensure seamless project progression:

• Acting as the lead Interior Design representative on site.
• Conducting regular site inspections to monitor progress, workmanship quality, and compliance with approved design documentation.
• Identifying and resolving design and construction-related issues in a timely manner.
• Reviewing and responding to Requests for Information (RFIs), contractor queries, and technical submissions.
• Coordinating with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and client representatives to facilitate successful project delivery.
• Proactively identifying design, quality, and programme risks and implementing mitigation measures.
• Ensuring all works are delivered in compliance with project specifications, local regulations, and client requirements.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

The successful candidate will possess 5-10 years of experience in interior architecture and design, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects from concept through to handover. Key requirements include:
