About the Role

Mace is seeking a Senior Construction Manager (Civil) to join their team in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, covering Umluj and Tabuk. This full-time role requires over 10 years of experience and focuses on providing civil engineering leadership across a major infrastructure programme. The position involves aligning design, construction, and technical assurance to deliver integrated infrastructure outcomes, with a specific focus on substructure works, stormwater, drainage, flood mitigation, and hydraulic coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote Mace's Safety First value, exhibiting visible safety behaviours and utilising the HSW framework.
  • Ensure robust quality systems are in place and managed in line with service excellence.
  • Manage project delivery from inception through design, procurement, and construction phases, adhering to the overall programme and agreed milestones.
  • Manage project budgets, identifying and mitigating risks and challenges.
  • Provide technical leadership for civil engineering disciplines across multiple delivery packages.
  • Review engineering designs for compliance with programme requirements and applicable standards.
  • Lead technical reviews related to substructures, earthworks, roads, utilities, structures, and drainage systems.
  • Offer specialist technical guidance on stormwater design and flood management systems.
  • Coordinate technical interfaces between civil and utility disciplines.
  • Review temporary and permanent works proposals and support the resolution of technical design and construction issues.
  • Manage technical risk identification and mitigation activities, and monitor technical performance and compliance during delivery.
  • Lead the construction of MEP services within the project MEP team, ensuring compliance with Mace standards.
  • Manage the site environment, programme, Health Safety & Wellbeing, Quality & Commissioning of the project.
  • Liaise and coordinate with key project stakeholders, including the Client, Consultants, and Trade Contractors.
  • Manage the checking and overseeing of design output to ensure clarity, achievability, and buildability.
  • Prepare and implement delivery strategies and programmes for all project phases.
  • Develop and implement project-specific dimensional control strategies.
  • Ensure company and project quality requirements and procedures are implemented and adhered to.
  • Manage and provide leadership to teams, ensuring standards, structures, tools, and capabilities are in place.
  • Manage technical aspects of projects, including innovations and continuous improvement plans.
  • Provide performance management, technical development, and coaching to the team.
  • Manage and influence key stakeholders, building internal and external working relationships.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Professional qualification with the Institution of Civil Engineers, Institution of Structural Engineers, or a similar professional body.
  • Extensive experience (10+ years) in major infrastructure programmes.
  • Strong knowledge of civil infrastructure delivery and substructure works.
  • Thorough experience in stormwater design, drainage systems, and hydraulic infrastructure.
  • Experience undertaking technical assurance and engineering reviews.
  • Chartered Engineer status is preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Commercial and delivery awareness within complex, multidisciplinary programmes.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote site environment and manage competing priorities.
  • Commitment to health, safety, quality, sustainability, and collaborative working.

This role is based in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, covering Umluj and Tabuk, and requires the ability to work effectively in a remote site environment. The position involves collaboration with various project and client teams, consultants, and trade contractors within a multidisciplinary programme.
