T&C Protection Engineer

About the Role

Larsen & Toubro is seeking a T&C Protection Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves ensuring that facilities, equipment, and plants function correctly and meet client needs through comprehensive testing and commissioning activities. The engineer will be responsible for bringing products and systems to optimal operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

• Testing main advanced relays, backup relays, and auxiliary relays, executing tasks individually for BSP projects.
• Operating various relay software applications.
• Operating secondary and primary current injection kits from different manufacturers.
• Verifying protection schemes in the field based on thorough knowledge.
• Proposing improvements and offering advice on operational procedures.
• Scheduling and coordinating work to meet tight deadlines.
• Identifying problems and shortcomings within existing systems.
• Coordinating testing and commissioning activities with internal and external stakeholders, and providing guidance on procedures and documentation.
• Producing or assisting in the production of all test and commissioning documentation.
• Undertaking testing and commissioning activities within specified time and cost parameters.
• Monitoring progress, recording all test results, witnessing final testing and acceptance of equipment, and compiling documentation for the site test dossier.
• Ensuring the safe testing and commissioning of completed installations to achieve required plant performance in line with project programs.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 8-15 years of experience in testing and commissioning of EHV substations.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in 380kV Substation Projects within Saudi Arabia or the GCC region.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, focusing on critical infrastructure projects within the region.
