As a Software Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining the club's in-house dashboard application and the cloud infrastructure supporting the increasing use of data within the First Team and Academy. This position is essential for enhancing the club's technology infrastructure and advancing data-driven decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an in-house dashboard application for football analytics.
• Implement robust front-end and back-end solutions for club applications.
• Design user-friendly interfaces and improve usability based on stakeholder feedback.
• Optimize application performance and ensure scalability for increasing data loads.
• Design and manage data pipelines, integrating multiple data sources using Python and SQL.
• Maintain and optimize databases, including MySQL and PostgreSQL.
• Deploy and manage cloud-based solutions utilizing Google Cloud Platform.
• Ensure the security, networking, and reliability of cloud infrastructure.
• Optimize cloud resource allocation for cost efficiency and scalability.
• Manage cloud-based storage solutions for high-performance data access and retrieval.
• Manage the Kubernetes and Docker ecosystems for containerization and orchestration.
• Collaborate with data and video analysts, coaches, and performance and technical staff to deliver impactful tools.
• Present technical solutions clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a relevant field.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of 5-10 years of professional experience in software engineering.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced football environment.

Required Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Python and its data visualization libraries (pandas, matplotlib, seaborn, Plotly, Dash).
• Experience with Django for web development and API development using Flask or FastAPI.
• Knowledge of Google Cloud Platform, specifically BigQuery, Cloud Networking, and Google Kubernetes Engine.
• Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, and front-end frameworks like React Native or Flutter.
• Strong understanding and practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
• Proficiency in using GitHub for version control and collaborative development.
• Strong SQL knowledge, with experience in MySQL and PostgreSQL being desirable.

Work Environment and Location
