About the Role

Hill International, Inc. is seeking a Quality Control Mechanical Engineer for a full-time position in Dammam, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia. This role is essential for overseeing the successful execution of mechanical works on large-scale infrastructure or airport projects. The primary objective is to ensure strict adherence to approved drawings, project specifications, and international quality standards through meticulous monitoring, verification, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor all mechanical works on-site to ensure strict compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, and established quality standards.
  • Review and verify contractor submittals, including method statements, material approvals, and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Conduct comprehensive inspections for mechanical systems such as HVAC, chilled water systems, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection systems.
  • Ensure that all materials and equipment delivered to the site meet approved specifications and relevant industry standards.
  • Witness and oversee the testing and commissioning activities for all mechanical systems, verifying compliance with project requirements.
  • Raise, track, and ensure the timely closure of non-conformance reports (NCRs), implementing appropriate corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of all inspections, approvals, and testing documentation.
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and other project disciplines to identify and resolve quality-related issues.
  • Ensure adherence to international standards and specific airport regulations relevant to the project.
  • Prepare and submit periodic quality reports, highlighting issues, identified risks, and providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure continued compliance with Hill International's relevant Quality, Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health Policies, Manuals, and Procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Director or line manager.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of progressive experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) for mechanical works, specifically within large infrastructure or airport projects.
  • Demonstrated strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting systems, and general mechanical systems installation and testing procedures.
  • Familiarity with relevant international standards such as ASHRAE, NFPA, and ISO, as well as established quality management systems.
  • Proven experience in reviewing technical drawings, project specifications, and comprehensive QA/QC documentation.
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English.
