About the Role

Unilever Arabia is seeking a Logistics Supervisor to join its team in Jeddah. This full-time role is central to managing import operations, customs clearance activities, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The supervisor will be responsible for the timely, cost-effective, and compliant movement of goods, coordinating closely with various internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities and Scope

The Logistics Supervisor will manage and monitor import shipment performance to ensure efficient clearance processes. This includes securing all required documentation, registrations, permits, triangulation invoice requirements, and pre-approvals before shipment arrival to prevent delays, demurrage, and detention charges. The role also involves coordinating the timely delivery of imported goods to designated warehouses and managing all regulatory compliance activities, such as SFDA registrations, SASO certifications, and customs exemptions. A key aspect of this position is driving operational excellence and continuous improvement across all import and clearance activities.

Core Duties

  • Manage import shipment costs, payments, deliveries, and system registrations.
  • Coordinate with government authorities to secure approvals and resolve regulatory matters.
  • Execute customs clearance activities and ensure all required documentation is in place before shipment arrival.
  • Manage triangulation invoice requirements and ensure compliance with customs regulations to facilitate smooth clearance processes.
  • Manage customs exemptions and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure capacity availability and timely receipt of imported goods.
  • Monitor and manage third-party service providers to ensure operational efficiency and service compliance.
  • Drive initiatives to improve clearance lead times and optimize import operations.
  • Follow up on empty container returns to minimize detention and related costs.
  • Maintain compliance with SFDA, SASO (Saber), Customs, and other applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth end-to-end import operations.
