About Vanderlande and the Role

Vanderlande is a global market leader in baggage handling systems for airports, sorting systems for parcel and postal services, and Warehouse Solutions. This full-time Maintenance Technician position is based at our customer site in Jeddah, Makkah. The role involves performing maintenance duties and responding to reactive calls for our Material Handling System to ensure optimal productivity, equipment availability, health & safety compliance, and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machinery and electrical equipment such as motors, electrical circuits, ATR systems, baggage handling equipment, and conveyor systems.
  • Adhere to safe working practices at all times, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures.
  • Prepare and execute service calls, emergency maintenance, and corrective maintenance tasks.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and follow up on corrective maintenance work orders.
  • Report all service calls accurately.
  • Advise on and execute optimization of (sub) systems, consulting with the supervisor and proposing improvements for service process quality.
  • Develop service supporting tools and means.
  • Un-jam conveyors and resolve system errors.
  • Attend to manual encoding stations and load correction zones.
  • Complete CMMS Service Reports, Parts Usage, and Warranty Records.
  • Research and request spare parts as needed.
  • Perform inventory counts.

Operational Duties and Team Support

  • Work independently on preventive maintenance tasks on site.
  • Identify problems in planning and tooling, providing input for improvements.
  • Assist other service technicians in correcting faults.
  • Independently correct standard faults within the system.
  • Instruct and provide guidance to less experienced technicians.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience required: 0-1 years in a relevant field.
  • Ability to read and interpret diagrams, electrical drawings, operational manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety compliance, particularly Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures.

Work Environment

This role operates within a customer site in Jeddah, focusing on maintaining complex material handling systems. The technician will work both independently on routine tasks and collaboratively with a team, providing support and guidance to colleagues as needed.
