Job Summary:
Responsible for collecting a variety of specimen samples as well as label the blood vials, in a home set-up. Scope includes bringing all blood and specimen samples to the laboratory.

Primary Responsibilities:

Identifies correct patient of all ages by requesting the patient (guardian) to state his/her full name and comparing with the requisition details.
Consistently withdraws blood properly using established laboratory procedures (* proper patient identification, proper tube selection, etc.).
Verifies and collects proper samples required for specific tests. Accurately label specimens and records on all laboratory requisitions forms.
Properly instructs patients of all ages, the correct way to collect urine specimens.
Correctly processes all laboratory requisitions and specimens for routine and reference tests.
Maintains an adequate supply of specimen collection equipment.
Greets patients in courteous manner, responding with empathy and establishing good rapport with all co-workers.

Education / Professional Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Medical Technology.
Minimum of 2 years in phlebotomy or related area.
Valid Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) license.
