About the Area Sales Manager, Travel Retail Role

JTI is seeking an Area Sales Manager to oversee Global Travel Retail activities across Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves managing sales, commercial operations, and customer relationships within various travel retail channels, including airport duty-free, ship handling, downtown duty-free, and border shops. The role requires a proactive approach to driving sales performance and ensuring compliance with JTI policies and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute sales, distribution, and marketing strategies, including merchandising, shelf-space management, and promotions, adapting plans for specific channels and accounts in line with global strategy.
  • Gather and analyze sales, invoicing, order delivery, stock, and investment data from customer IT systems to compile monthly reports against KPIs and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Develop and implement local account plans, contribute to International Key Account (IKA) strategies, and foster customer engagement to increase overall purchases.
  • Prepare, align, and execute annual and strategic business plans, including historical analysis, SWOT, objectives, and KPI tracking, while ensuring market P&L delivery and maintaining an 18-month rolling forecast.
  • Collaborate with management to oversee Retail Sales Consultant (RSC) activities, including recruitment, coaching, and third-party agency management to enhance consumer insights and brand activation.
  • Monitor sales KPIs, market trends, and competitive dynamics to provide insights and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Ensure field presence and maintain strong relationships with customers and concession partners.

Qualifications and Experience

  • University degree or equivalent.
  • Over 5 years of experience in sales, distribution, channel management, or trade marketing.
  • Proven experience in consumer/trade promotions management.
  • Key Account Management background in FMCG or Travel Retail is preferred.
  • Experience with airport duty-free, ship handling, downtown duty-free, or border shops is a strong advantage.
  • Exposure to Global Travel Retail and the tobacco industry is advantageous.
  • Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong commercial, operational, order, pricing, and promotional execution skills.
  • Ability to manage in-store visibility and availability across relevant channels.
  • Proven ability in sales performance tracking, KPI monitoring, and market intelligence gathering.
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills, particularly with duty-free and concession partners.
  • Sound knowledge of commercial processes, customer service standards, MS Office, and reporting tools.
