As an Assistant Manager - Outbound Transportation, you will play a crucial role in developing and executing strategies for the transportation of fully built units, ensuring safe storage, maintenance, and efficient movement of vehicles in our facility. This position involves managing multi-modal transportation, collaborating with third-party logistics providers, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure timely shipments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Manager in leading outbound transportation for all CBU (Import/Export/Domestic distribution) activities.
- Assist in developing and implementing transportation strategies to optimize costs and service levels.
- Coordinate with carrier partners and internal teams to ensure smooth logistics operations.
- Monitor transportation KPIs and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with transportation and trade regulations.
- Drive continuous improvement projects focused on lead time reduction and network optimization.
- Supervise, coach, and develop team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- 7-10 years of progressive experience in logistics or supply chain operations.
- Experience in a supervisory or team lead role within logistics.
- Strong acumen for freight cost management and budget control.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
