About the Role
Rotana Hotels is seeking a qualified Audiovisual Technician to join their team in Makkah. This full-time position requires a professional dedicated to delivering high standards of customer service and providing effective technical solutions within the hotel environment.
Key Responsibilities
As an Audiovisual Technician, your primary responsibility will be the setup and operation of audiovisual equipment for hotel events. You will provide essential technical support for banquet facilities and event spaces, ensuring all functions are technically sound and well-executed. Your duties will include:
- Setting up, testing, and dismantling audiovisual equipment for banquet functions according to daily function sheets.
- Performing assigned tasks to ensure the correct and functional setup of all event requirements.
- Operating audiovisual equipment during functions as needed.
- Conducting monthly inventory checks of all banquet audiovisual equipment.
- Maintaining a daily log of all outgoing and incoming equipment for banquets and outside catering.
- Executing assignments within the 'Preventive Maintenance Programme'.
- Collaborating with and assisting other Engineering colleagues when required.
- Ensuring the cleanliness and orderliness of the A/V control room and A/V storage room.
- Conducting daily inspections of all function rooms and breakout areas to verify the defect-free status of lights, air conditioning, and other services, and performing immediate repairs or lamp replacements.
- Carrying out any other duties assigned by superiors.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess a diploma in media techniques and have previous experience handling audiovisual equipment, preferably in theatre performances or a hotel setting. A minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant experience is required.
Required Skills and Competencies
Essential skills for this role include a good command of the English language, with the ability to identify and rectify system faults. Candidates should be self-motivated, demonstrate a hands-on and flexible approach, and be capable of adapting to unpredictable events.
