About the Civil BIM Modeler Role

OHLA Group is seeking a Civil BIM Modeler (Draftsman) for a full-time position within the Makkah Region, specifically in Jeddah and Makkah. This role is integral to developing, coordinating, and maintaining Building Information Modeling (BIM) models for civil and infrastructure projects, requiring 5-10 years of experience.

Core Responsibilities

The Civil BIM Modeler is responsible for a range of tasks focused on BIM model creation and management. This includes:

• Developing and maintaining accurate 3D BIM models for civil and infrastructure works.
• Preparing detailed construction drawings, shop drawings, and as-built drawings derived from BIM models.
• Creating and modifying alignments, corridors, grading models, surfaces, and utility networks.
• Ensuring BIM models adhere to project BIM standards, specifications, and client requirements.
• Maintaining model accuracy and consistency throughout all project phases.

Coordination and Documentation

Effective coordination and documentation are key aspects of this role:

• Coordinating BIM models with structural, architectural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines.
• Performing clash detection and model validation using BIM coordination software.
• Resolving model conflicts and coordinating design updates with project stakeholders.
• Extracting quantities and generating reports from BIM models to support quantity surveying and project controls teams.
• Producing model-based schedules, sections, profiles, and detailed drawings.
• Maintaining BIM documentation and revision records.

Technical Support and Quality Assurance

The role also involves providing technical assistance and ensuring quality standards:

• Supporting engineers in developing design alternatives and construction methodologies.
• Assisting site teams with BIM-based construction support.
• Reviewing consultant models and incorporating approved design changes.
• Ensuring BIM deliverables comply with project standards and BIM Execution Plans (BEP).
• Performing model quality checks and coordinating model audits.
• Ensuring compliance with company BIM procedures and industry best practices.

Qualifications and Software Proficiency

Candidates should possess the following qualifications and technical skills:

• A Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, BIM Technology, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in BIM modeling for infrastructure and civil projects.
• Experience in roads, grading, utilities, tunnels, bridges, or site development projects is preferred.
• Essential Software Skills: Autodesk Civil 3D, Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks Manage.
• Preferred Software Skills: Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), BIM 360.
