Job Description

About Salla and the Role

Salla is seeking an Engineering Manager Enterprise to lead its Enterprise Solutions team. This full-time position is based in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The role involves hands-on leadership, managing engineers who design, build, and deliver custom enterprise-grade services, ranging from bespoke themes to complex integrations. The Engineering Manager will act as a bridge between technical delivery and high-level client management, owning the delivery of premium technical services and the technical execution of enterprise merchant onboarding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a core team of solutions engineers and technical leads, focusing on hiring, coaching, growth, goal setting, and performance feedback to cultivate a high-performing delivery culture.
  • Coordinate technical squads from other engineering units on demand to fulfill specific project requirements, ensuring balanced capacity across concurrent enterprise engagements.
  • Establish and enforce rigorous engineering standards for project delivery, ensuring custom builds are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with the core platform architecture.
  • Contribute delivery-side insights to leadership decisions regarding the definition and evolution of the premium technical services catalog, including custom development, advanced consultancy, and dedicated support.

Enterprise Services and Onboarding Management

  • Oversee the technical execution of premium contracts, including scoping, estimation, and delivery of custom requirements such as bespoke themes and specialized API integrations.
  • Enforce Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for custom deliverables, tracking milestone completion, delivery quality, and billing triggers to support service profitability and client satisfaction.
  • Serve as a senior technical point of contact for premium accounts, translating complex business needs into actionable, well-scoped engineering tasks for the team.
  • Lead the technical coordination for new Class A merchants, ensuring swift execution of complex data migrations, ERP integrations, and store setups to minimize time-to-value.
  • Act as the central bridge between merchants, internal engineering squads, and customer support, proactively addressing technical blockers that could impact onboarding timelines.
  • Orchestrate ad-hoc, on-demand technical teams from various internal units to address specific, time-sensitive onboarding challenges for key accounts.

Strategic Customization and Client Success

  • Develop engineering frameworks that enable the delivery of custom solutions for global brands without incurring technical debt, ensuring regional customizations remain compatible with the core global platform.
  • Support the adaptation of enterprise service offerings for international markets, including integrations with regional ERP systems and compliance with local enterprise data governance requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Sales team during the pre-sales process for high-value prospects to validate technical feasibility and scope potential service contracts.
  • Ensure the quality of technical delivery fosters long-term loyalty among premium merchants, contributing to client retention and identifying upsell opportunities.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Software Engineering, or Professional Services.
  • At least 2 years of direct experience managing engineering or technical delivery teams serving Enterprise/B2B clients.
  • Strong understanding of e-commerce architectures (Headless, API-first), integrations (ERPs, CRM), and web technologies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both engineers and business owners.
  • Proven experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects with strict deadlines and commercial contracts.
  • Demonstrated ability to hire, develop, and retain skilled engineers, and to manage performance within a client-facing delivery environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to manage client expectations and de-escalate critical technical situations.
